Understanding Spyware: What Does It Do?

Spyware may install itself into the victim’s computer for the purpose of gathering personal information including his surfing habits, passwords, and websites that he visits.
Meanwhile, a registry cleaner may be required to erase the entries that the spyware has placed in the Registry. This is usually done after anti-spyware software has gotten rid of the spyware’s files.
A registry cleaner ensures that there are no remnants of the spyware in the Registry that could hamper the efficient operation of the computer system.
It is advisable to run an anti-spyware program and a registry cleaner because aside from collecting private data, the spyware can also change the Internet settings in the infected computer that could result into a slower connection speed. The spyware can also hijack the web browser and force it to visit certain web pages.
Another reason to regularly run an anti-spyware program and a registry cleaner in your system is that a spyware program is usually accompanied by other malware. This may result into a substantial rise in unwanted network traffic, disk usage, CPU use, and hard drive use. Therefore, if you do not have a registry cleaner and security programs that could detect and remove these malware programs, the system might not boot, applications may suddenly stop, and there could be system crashes.
You may also be motivated to use anti-spyware programs and a registry cleaner to sweep up the mess left by a spyware program because of the possibility that it could be used for identity theft and fraud. Because someone would be capable of stealing the victim’s identity, the person who has stolen his identity can also access the victim’s bank accounts and others.
Another reason for the need to clean up spyware with an anti-spyware program and registry cleaner is that it usually displays intrusive advertisements at certain time intervals or when the user launches a browser window. A number of spyware applications, which are also known as adware, show banner ads with flickering and animated images and text that could annoy and distract the user.
